Sept. 13, 2024—Representatives from Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union visited the Alternative Learning Center-West on Sept. 9 to present a $500 check to the campus.
The cash prize was part of an incentive drawing that CFFCU held to encourage campuses to provide an updated school contact.
“Historically we have provided academic calendars for all the educators in CFISD, and when I delivered those to ALC-West, [Principal Derrick Crowder] said ‘I’m going to register right now,’” said Jacob Wills, CFFCU VP of business development. We sat down and talked, and here we are a month later with this campus winning the drawing.”
Crowder expressed gratitude to the longtime district partner for the gift.
“I feel extremely blessed and lucky that we had this opportunity and that they were so generous to give to our campus,” he said. “Now we are having even more conversations about getting more information about financial literacy. We are definitely going to continue the partnership; hopefully, they can help our campus and we can help them.”
